Deuteronomy 31: 6
Be strong! Be fearless! Don’t be afraid and don’t be scared by your enemies, because the Lord your God is the one who marches with you. He won’t let you down, and he won’t abandon you.
The halls of the church were full this past week with all those involved with Camp Fearless. Camp Fearless is hosted by ProMedica Hospice. It is a day camp for children and adolescents who have experienced the loss of a loved one. The week was filled with therapeutic activities, arts and crafts and team building exercises led by a team of Hospice professionals and trained volunteers.
The above is the “brochure definition” of the week…what I saw and what the campers experienced was LOVE. This week was learning to express themselves, to share, to feel and to be accepted. Each camper had an army of volunteers and staff caring for them, feeding them, and listening to them.
As the scripture from Deuteronomy states…Be strong! Be fearless! Each of these children had the chance to be fearless this past week. They were so strong to share their feelings and work through some very personal emotions. God was marching by their side.
So happy that our church can be supportive and lend our building to such a wonderful program. Such a great group of adults, kids, and those that love them!!
