More Than I Can Understand

Some weeks, I can hear God speaking to me at every turn. I can see things with God’s touch all around me.  Other weeks, I just keep missing God.  Yes, I know He is there.  Yes, I know he is still speaking, but either I am trying too hard or not hard enough.

This is one of those weeks! My to-do list was a mile long, but things were checked off one by one except the one that said “Blog”!  Every day I would sit down to write and ended with nothing but scratched out marks.  I would sit silently and calmly…try listening to music…read my Bible…look back at my day….NOTHING!  What was I doing wrong?  Come on…give me a clue!!

It finally hit me when I was reading Psalm 139:5-6

You are all around me, behind me and in front of me.
You hold me safe in your hand.
I’m amazed at how well you know me.
It’s more than I can understand.

It is more than I can understand…you can say that again! I don’t need to understand everything.  Actually, I wouldn’t want to!  I can be secure in knowing that God is all around me.  He is holding me safe.  He knows me.  He knows my heart.  He knows my sarcasm.  He knows what makes me happy and what bothers me.  He knows what makes me…me.  I may not be able to always see Him working, or hear him speaking.  That is OK, because He hasn’t left me.
