Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd.
I lack nothing.
He lets me rest in grassy meadows;
he leads me to restful waters;
he keeps me alive.
He guides me in proper paths
for the sake of his good name.
Listening to this scripture brought a clear image into my head…Simba, Timone, and Pumbaa lying in the grass looking at the stars.
They had rushed around all day, playing, looking for food, exploring and just being “kids”, but now they were resting. It was time for sharing, looking at nature and being still. I imagine this was a great chance to reconnect…not with social media…but with “human” contact. Sounds like a great opportunity to me!
After this image came to mind, I started to look at other Lion King images. There were a lot but only a few more spoke to me. The first was of Simba as a little cub “saved” and brought to the oasis or water.
This shows me how we all need to take the time and rest by the water. We are led there by God. Sometimes we need friends to help us and push us but God is always showing us the way.
The last image is of someone who is plunging in!! Enjoy the water, rest and reconnect!!
