Psalm 42
Just like a deer that craves streams of water,
my whole being craves you, God.
My whole being thirsts for God, for the living God.
When will I come and see God’s face?
I glanced out the window of the church office on Monday to see a deer stroll past the window. This was 1:00 in the afternoon and broad daylight. I quick raced to the next room so I could continue to watch this majestic animal. Where was she going? Why in the middle of the day? I also thought how my timing was so special. What if I hadn’t been facing the window? What if I hadn’t looked up?
My thoughts also immediately went to this Bible verse. Did the deer crave the stream? Was this deer in search of water? But more importantly, who do I thirst for? Who do you thirst for? As we go through this week, what direction are you going? What is your destination? Are your eyes on God? Do you need to change the direction of your thoughts?
