It is sooooo easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season! We have to be here, we have to go there, how many presents do we need to buy! Sometimes I think that naughty list gets longer and longer during THIS time of year! People put too much pressure on themselves to get things done and get them done a certain way! Our children get more and more excited or should I say hyper! Kids, you know what I’m talking about! IT’S CHRISTMAS! And we forget what the REAL meaning of Christmas really is. God came to live among us!! Jesus was born! Into our messy, messy world!
As we go through this Christmas time let’s take the time to slow down and be a little kinder than is necessary. Yes, I’m quoting Mr. Tushman from Wonder, who was quoting J.M. Barrie, but isn’t it a great quote! Kinder than is necessary! Smile more, even if you don’t feel like it. Eventually you will feel the way your face looks, happy! I know this is going to sound like a promo, but use the Advent Calendar we made at church. It’s filled with all kinds of things that can help each of us to share a little more kindness in the world! Maybe you will be inspired to do some kindness acts of your own!

Take an ice cube out of the freezer and put it on a plate on your kitchen table. Watch it melt! That’s right, watch it melt! Take time to breathe and relax as you watch the ice turn to water. Take time to pray and give thanks. Take time to be. And then, take time to be kinder than is necessary!
