As I watched them zoom from here to there, wrestle with each other, grab toys, spill water, and even cower in the corner, I had a smile on my face!! Who doesn’t love puppies?
These puppies were all rescue puppies. The back stories were just as inspiring. Rescued from Hurricane ravaged areas and shelters from all over the US, these puppies had survived against all odds with a little help from very caring humans. These humans looked beyond the tiny, starving, flea-infested, dirty bundles to see what each puppy could become. They believed in them, cared for them, and loved them. Amazing what love and caring can do.
In 1 Samuel (chapter 16), Samuel was looking at Jesse’s sons to find the one to be the new king. He was sure it was going to be first this son and then that son…but
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Have no regard for his appearance or stature, because I haven’t selected him. God doesn’t look at things like humans do. Humans see only what is visible to the eyes, but the Lord sees into the heart.”
God loves each of us no matter what others see. He has plenty of love to go around! But we also need to start taking care of each other. We may not be able to see from the outside what others are thinking and feeling, but we can be there to love them. Show people how much you care. Give them a chance. With enough love and caring, we can only imagine what our world can look like!
