Charleston, West Virginia

Sent to Love

The vehicles packed, hugs goodbye, prayers for safe travels, and we were off. 16 individuals made of 4 junior higher, 4 high schoolers, 2 graduates, 2 college students, a recent graduate school grad, 2 grandparents and a youth director were off to serve for His Glory. We arrived safely at Christ Church United Methodist where we were welcomed with open arms and a huge church. We discovered we had 4 floors, 2 elevators and so much to learn. Our work week started out very slow…as do all Monday’s on a mission trip. One of our crews is making a wheel chair ramp. After the correct tools were located and the plans drawn, the work began. There might have been a few holes that were dug and filled in only to be dug again, but progress was made.

The other crew was power washing a back deck and cleaning and painting a wall. They worked hard and fun doing it!

Our evening finished at the ball field watching the West Virginia Powers baseball team. Some of the kids even got on the big screen.

Day one in the books!!
